How to Fuel, Lift, and Recover Right When You're At Your Peak

It's Peak Week, and carbohydrates are one of your best tools for supporting demanding training sessions.

Carbs help replenish muscle glycogen—stored energy your body uses during repeated, high-intensity efforts.

The key? Match your fuel to your training schedule.

EARLY MORNING | 5–8 AM

Keep it light and easy to digest.

  • Before: Banana, toast with honey, or a small serving of oatmeal if you have time.
  • After: Eggs, oatmeal, and berries—or a protein shake with fruit.

Don't force a big meal at 5 AM. Just make sure you're fueled from the day before and recover afterward.

MID-MORNING | 8 AM–NOON

You've got a little more time to prepare.

  • Before: Oatmeal with Greek yogurt and berries, ideally 1–3 hours before training.
  • After: Chicken, rice, and vegetables—or a turkey sandwich with fruit.

AFTERNOON + EVENING | AFTER 3 PM

Your earlier meals set the stage.

  • Before: Balanced breakfast and lunch, plus a banana or granola bar 30–90 minutes before training if needed.
  • After: Lean protein, potatoes or rice, and vegetables.

Performance doesn't start at the gym door—it starts in the kitchen. How are you fueling your peak week?

A gym is a gym is a gym. And then there's Axis.

THE SIMPLE RULE

Carbs fuel the work. Protein supports the rebuild.

Eat enough throughout the day. Hydrate consistently. And don't show up for your heaviest lifts running on empty.

Performance starts before you touch the bar.
