I have been a Personal Trainer and Strength Conditioning Specialist in the Wilmington Market since 2008. I’ve spent countless hours on the gym floor working with clients and athletes, two years traveling the country studying various business models, working with the owners and now I’m excited to parlay that insight into Axis Fitness + Training. When working inside + outside of gyms, one thing that I’ve noticed that consistently separates good trainers from the pack is their ability to inspire, motivate and coach athletes and clients. I thrive on the intangibility of fitness. I believe in the power, confidence and life change that happen inside a good training program. Working with people to impact their life in a positive way is an awesome opportunity. It’s an opportunity I’m grateful for and one I take very seriously.

Passion + purpose brought me to Wilmington, North Carolina in 2004. I have had the privilege of being a resident, business owner and personal trainer in the Ogden and Porters Neck area for the last 10 years and now look forward to taking my experiences and creating a new culture of health. I believe in the value of relationships and in the amazing worth of people. I want to see our community grow and thrive and I intend to use every opportunity to turn this into reality. Axis Fitness + Training is a people first facility and will be known for our commitment to helping our members, our friends and neighbors reach their true potential.

Starting out young playing sports, I fell in love with body mechanics and am continuously amazed by how the body works, muscle strength, and overall mental ability that comes with fitness training. I graduated from ECU (GO PIRATES!) with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sport Science-Health Fitness Specialist. I have worked as a trainer with Professional Athletes & children who aspired to be Pro-Athletes, in Corporate Wellness settings, gyms, coaching, and boot camps. Growing up, my coach would say “Never Say I Can’t, Always Say I’ll Try.” I strive to promote this mindset to our clients here at Axis. My training focus is injury prevention, sport-specific training, proper technique, and overall health and wellness. I love trying new recipes in the kitchen and spending time on the boat with my husband, Pryor, and our four-legged dog children, Dowdy & Layla.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, I went on to lead an extensive playing career accumulating over 150 appearances within 8 seasons in professional soccer. With this combination of knowledge and experience, I then took a position with the Wilmington Hammerheads Professional Soccer team as the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Sports Science. I have also worked closely with the Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Soccer, previously running a Year-Round Sports Performance Program to improve the long-term athletic development of the athletes involved. Through the practice of Yoga and strength training, my goal is to rehabilitate and heal injuries. My beautiful wife, Macy, and I aim to connect the Wilmington community and to help our clients realize their personal power through Axis Fitness and Axis Yoga!

I came into Axis Fitness + Training for a workout in January of 2016 when it first opened, and they haven’t been able to get rid of me since! With a degree in Public Relations from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner) and working many years professionally in the world of marketing, I love applying my creative skills, love for people, and passion for health and fitness to Axis Fitness + Training. I moved to Wilmington from Dallas (#TexasForever) three years ago, and love living by the ocean now! In my free time, I enjoy running and training for races, the sea and the sand, traveling, and all things adventure!

First and foremost, I am the proud mom of four incredible children – Kynlee, Connor, Davis, and Asher! With a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, a minor in Nutrition, and working as a RN Cardiac Nurse for years, I am very passionate about one’s overall health, especially when it comes to nutrition. What we feed our bodies fuels us to live our best lives possible! I implemented the Axis Fitness 360+1 Nutritional System over two years ago to fill in the nutritional gaps that go along with a whole food diet, in an effort to supplement what I was missing in my day to day nutrition. The convenience and quality of the system lead to improved energy and transformed my body, allowing me to live a full and balanced lifestyle! Our nutritional system offers a solution for everyone, whether that’s healthy aging, improved energy and performance, or weight loss.

My passion for soccer and athletics has propelled me over the years to search for ways to not only mold myself into the best athlete possible, but to also discover ways in which I can help others around me become the best version of themselves! After graduating from Mars Hill University with a bachelors degree in Biology, I was blessed with the opportunity pursue my dream of playing professional soccer. My playing career over the last 4 years has brought me all across the United States as well as overseas. While maintaining peek performance shape has been a priority of mine, helping others reach their full potential has become my true passion. By using my experience in both personal training and strength and conditioning, my goal is to help clients reach their own personal fitness goals and maintain the fun, positive environment of Axis!

I’ve been active my entire life, with a love for gymnastics and track that started in childhood and stayed with me through high school and college. As I got older, I realized that I wanted to share my affinity for physical fitness with others. In 2006, I became a certified personal trainer and started working with clients in various fitness centers throughout the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area. Personally, I developed a minor obsession with Crossfit and I’m a retired marathoner. Although I love to run, picking up heavy things and putting them down is my workout of choice. For clients, I offer a variety of services and classes that can fit the needs of all ages and capabilities. I also enjoy donuts and spending time with my husband, son, and two dogs. I am so happy to be part of the Axis family! I look forward to welcoming more people to our community and continuing to help people achieve their fitness goals.

I am the proud mother to a sassy little six-year-old named Lailyn! After moving to Wilmington from Miami a year ago, I was accepted into the Occupational Therapy Assisting Program. My passion is helping people, and I chose this particular program so that I can live my life encouraging and motivating others to live their lives to the fullest, despite any setbacks. Growing up playing sports my whole life, I am also very passionate about fitness and I absolutely love being a part of the Axis Family! My goal is to make you smile when you walk through our doors.

I have been in the fitness industry for over 25 years with certifications in Barre Fitness, Pilates Apparatus and Mat, Yoga, and Red Hot Dance. My mission is to spread my love of movement and nutrition throughout the exercise world. As a former professional dancer and faculty member at Douglass College, Rutgers University, I pride myself on being a leader of innovative trends in the fitness industry. I have been teaching Barre classes that constantly challenge the body, while sculpting and strengthening both body and mind. My hope is that my passion for doing what I love will motivate clients to move through life with a better understanding and excitement to work hard, eat well, and see results… while enjoying life the way it is meant to be lived!

I first fell in love with health and fitness after two years of physical therapy for chronic neck and back pain. After learning to exercise in a way that not only worked for my body but also helped my body heal, I was inspired to help others with their injuries. My goal is to help you move well, all while motivating and inspiring you to become the best versions of yourselves! I have certifications in Personal Training, Group Fitness, Mat Pilates, Barre, and Nutritional Coaching, and I have loved applying this knowledge to coaching MetCon and Barre classes as Axis CastleBranch. My two favorite places to be are on the beach or at barre! Hope to be able to meet you and work with you on achieving your heath and fitness goals!

In my real life, I’m a thinker, planner, a mover and a shaker – working in Creative Direction and Brand Strategy. In my gym life, I’m a core-killer, butt-tightening, arm-toning beast. I trained and apprenticed with Shelley Jackson and pulled some of my favorite aspects of her training with a fresh take on challenging your body to see the results from proper form and postures. I joined the Axis Fam in 2016 and since have seen a tremendous change in my overall health – from strength to flexibility to nutrition.

I was introduced to group fitness my freshman year of college and have never been the same! I received my first certification in group fitness when I was 21 years old. Since then I have completed multiple certifications and a degree in exercise science from UNCW. A career as a fitness instructor is unique in that your success depends on others successes; I could not think of a more rewarding profession (other than being a mommy). My goal is to make you fit all while having fun and feeling like the best version of yourself! Outside of fitness, I love spending time with my husband and I am the proud mom to a beautiful baby boy named Graham.

I have been dancing and performing since I was 2 years old. While growing up in Arizona, I trained for 16 years at Tempe Dance Academy, winning a variety of awards. I also trained at Gus Giordano workshops, was a company member of the Christian Dance Company, and performed in the 1996 Olympic Coca Cola Opening Ceremonies. During college, I performed professionally on the NBA Phoenix Suns Dance Team, as a featured dancer on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and as a dance captain for Broadway Palm West. Recently, I taught ballet to the company members at South East Dance Academy and lyrical and modern to the company members at Dance Arts Conservatory. I am so excited about applying my knowledge of dance exercise to teach Barre. I am local to Wilmington, NC with my husband and 3 beautiful children, and I am so thrilled to be a part of the Axis Family!
